Welcome to the Parent Pointer Adventure! Are you ready to go on a fun journey? With the help of your grown-up, you’ll discover new sights and sounds just by following their lead!
Why Follow Directions?
Following directions helps you explore new areas and discover things you might not have noticed before. It's also a great way to practice your observation skills!
Step 1: Get Ready
- Find Your Grown-Up: Ask an adult to join you on this adventure. Together, you can explore your surroundings!
- Choose a Spot: Pick a safe place to walk, like a park, your backyard, or a nature trail.
Step 2: The Pointer Game
- Point in a Random Direction: Have your grown-up stand still and point in a random direction.
- Count Your Steps: Now it’s your turn! Walk 30 steps in the direction your adult pointed. Count each step out loud—this is your adventure!
Step 3: Observe and Discover
- Look Around: Once you’ve walked your 30 steps, take a moment to look at your surroundings. What do you see? Are there interesting plants, animals, or objects?
- Take Notes: Write down or draw what you discover in your adventure notebook. This will help you remember your findings!
Safety Tips:
- Make sure to stay aware of your surroundings while walking, especially near roads or busy areas.
- Always walk on safe, even ground.
Fun Facts:
- Did you know that exploring new places can improve your creativity and problem-solving skills?
- Some animals have excellent directional skills and can find their way home from miles away!
